Fussiness and drooling

Travis has been fussy, cranky, and drooling like crazy this past week! He’s teething now, but when that first tooth will make its cut is up in the air. I felt around his gums the other day and felt a bumpy, swollen area. Travis is only 3 months going on 4 (on the 7th) so he hasn’t really mastered on holding the teething ring to his mouth just yet. All he’s been chewing on is his fist and fingers. I froze a wet washcloth and let him chew on it, which seemed to help a bit. Besides that, he’s been so grumpy! He would barely nap in the daytime, the longest nap he’s had today was about thirty minutes. On top of that, he doesn’t want to be put down at night. It almost took me an hour of rocking him in the glider till he finally fell asleep :)

My poor baby. I don’t like to see him in discomfort. What did you guys give your babies to ease their discomfort while teething (besides Orajel)? Any natural remedies would be great!

Rolled over

My baby boy has rolled over! He was on his tummy looking at his snail (not a real one) and before I knew it he was on his side and rolled over to his back!

So proud of my baby!

Silliness

Travis is being silly right now. He keeps insisting on sucking his fist and pacifier at the same time. Of course it’s not working and he’s getting very upset. Poor Travis! :)

Afternoon walk

Today was such a nice afternoon here in Northern Cali! When i woke up this morning it was raining, but after Travis and I woke up from our midmorning nap the sun was out. I took advantage of the nice weather in the afternoon and took Travis out for a walk. Travis enjoyed our walk, he was very amazed at all the trees and dogs that he saw.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a wonderful day as well so we can take another walk! Maybe we’ll take a walk to Starbucks to get some iced green tea :)

There's my little mister waiting for us to go for our walk!

OMG!

Travis just had the biggest tantrum ever. He was just crying and crying and I couldn’t calm him down (and I usually can). So I started panicking and called my parents who are driving home! They heard him crying over the phone and they almost drove back here! Anyhow, I was finally able to calm him done and he’s all smiles now ^_^

Boy did I have a mini panic attack during his tantrum. His cry was just different.

Happy 3 Months!

My little Sesame Seed you are 3 months today! As always you continue to amaze me and your dad every single day. Here are some things that I’ve noticed within the past month:
  • You’re now drinking 5-6oz of breastmilk.
  • You’re becoming more social. You love to talk! You get very upset if someone’s around you and they aren’t talking to you.
  • You smile more now. Everytime I see you, you’re smiling.
  • You’re still not too fond of tummy time.
  • You have a strong grip and you like to stand yourself up when you’re being held.
  • You still love sleeping on your tummy, but of course I only let you sleep on your tummy during naps when I’m awake.
  • You love to kick off the blankets.
  • You love the camera!
  • You love it when people are going “oooh” and “aaah” over you.
  • The size 2 diapers are starting to get tight. It might be time to move on to size 3 diapers!
  • You sleep for five to six hours now at night (Praise the lord! LOL)
  • You only wake up once now for middle of the night feedings.
  • You love to suck on your hands and fingers now.
  • You’re more moody.
  • You like it when I tickle your nose.
  • You like listening to lullabies now (You didn’t seem to care much about them before).
  • You like to squeal.
  • You’re starting to grow out of the 3-6 months clothing and into 6-9 months clothing :O
  • You love looking at pictures of yourself.
  • You love hitting the two elephants that are hanging from your bouncy chair.
  • You like to laugh out loud

Bad mommy award!

The bad mommy award goes to me! :( I accidentally cut Trav’s little finger while cutting his nails!!! Sigh my poor baby, mommy is very very sorry!!!

Oh my

Miraculously, Travis is not at all fussy! During the past few times he’s had a growth spurt, he was fussy for a few days and constantly waking up at night to feed. Travis did not even wake up at all last night - he usually wakes up around 0400-0500, sometimes 0600 if his last feeding before that falls around midnight-0100. After he drank another five ounces around 2200 he was asleep and didn’t wake up till 0630 this morning! I think I’ll start topping him off and see if that’ll make him sleep a full night. If not, it’s alright since he only wakes up once after midnight anyway.

Travis not waking up caused a little jumble in our morning schedule. Joseph’s schedule has yet been changed again so he’s now working days versus nights. Anyhow, since Travis usually wakes up around 0500, he ends up waking up Joseph to get ready for work and waking me up to make sure Joseph wakes up (Joseph is not a morning person). Anyway since Travis didn’t wake up, I didn’t wake up, and it turns out that Joseph forgot to put his phone out of silence rendering the alarm he set on his phone useless. LOL! So someone was a bit late for work today!

3 month growth spurt

I think my little prince is going through a growth spurt! He’s been eating like a champ this whole day! Usually he drinks five oz of breastmilk, which would last him 3-4 hours, sometimes more if he’s napping during the day. However, while we were at the mall he drank a whole six ounces like it was nothing! Two hours later, he was hungry again so I gave him another five ounces. Within an hour and a half, he was hungry again so I topped him off with two ounces. The last few times he’s done this, it was around the time when babies are said to have a growth spurt. I’m not surprised since there’s a growth spurt at 3 months, which is perfect timing since he will be 3 months on Friday.

Anyhow, here’s a picture of my little mister full from all his milk (taken last week though).

First laugh

Travis gave us his first laugh yesterday! Joseph was making faces and talking to him and out of nowhere he starts laughing. It was the cutest thing ever. I’m looking forward to hearing and seeing him laugh more. Seeing him happy makes me happy.
